Thistle Ridge Soap, one of life's simple pleasures

I have had the pleasure of meeting Jamie through a festival here in Duluth several years ago. I am an avid user of her soaps as is my family. Because of the natural process she uses, I felt it only fitting that I offer them to you here at The Yarn Grove. Of course, the soaps are great too!

In their words Thistle Ridge Soap is a family run handmade soap & toiletries business located in Walhalla, South Carolina, at the foothills of the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains. Our business was initiated after considerable reading, research and education about the art and science of soap making.

We create our soap by the cold process method, using various vegetable and nut oils as our base. Herbs and spices provide color and texture, while essential oils scent and complement each bar. No synthetic fragrance oils, dyes, petroleum products or animal fats are used in our soaps.

The soap is prepared in five and ten pound batches. Each batch is manually sliced into individual bars and allowed to cure for several weeks. After drying, each bar is hand polished, shaped, labeled, and ready for use...
